About

As legends tell us, a bright star illuminated the skies on the 15th of May 1994, as a presage of what was coming. The day after this anomaly, Bob was born!

At a young age, it became clear that Bob was breathing rhythm as nothing was safe. So, to save the interior of his parental home from damage from drumming, his parents sent him to drum classes, yet it only escalated from there. On an informative note: “Genesis” means “the origin”, and it couldn’t be more fitting that this band was the origin of Bob’s ambitions on the kit.

Bob played in a number of bands like, Bite My Wire, Chivy and the BlueZicians and The Quartermen. Bite My Wire and The Quartermen won several audience awards and participated in several band competitions finales. With The Quartermen he also shared stages with Audio Adam and Only Seven Left.

He also got into to the Rock Academy in Tilburg in 2014 after several audition rounds, where he studied drums and percussion with a specialization in music business. He graduated with an 8 and therefore earned his Bachelor of Music degree in July 2019.

His musical life has a very clear theme: develop and connect. “The drumkit is the most beautiful instrument, in my opinion, because I know that nobody has ever managed to exploit its potential to the fullest and no one probably ever will. The only thing I can do is to strive to get the most out of it.”

“Music is to me the best means to connect people. Languages may differ and faiths may divide believers, but music is passion and commitment, which connects when shared!”

Bob is working hard exploring a wide variety of musical genres, but finds his preferred rhythms in Pop, Latin and Reggae. However, he knows that music is subjective and he wants to develop into a musical chameleon, just like his biggest hero Vinnie Colaiuta, in order to achieve his goals.

Bob is currently based as a professional musician in both London and Berlin, playing in the UK rock band The Gulls, as well as doing the management for Berlin based band Steppers Division (DE). He also works as a composer for Berlin based project KLANGEIST. Teaching is something he does as well, with over 9 years of experience. In London he has his own students, which he teaches on a weekly basis.
